I'm going to sound heartless. Don't get me wrong, I'm REALLY missing some of these guys. Bowie and Rickman most of all, but that was merely because I hardly remember the rest.

That said. Nature is freaking out. We have no natural predators. Only we kill ourselves most of the time. We've conquered COUNTLESS diseases- minus cancer, which is a point that I will revisit - and we are living longer than we have ever lived before unless you count the Bible. (Some people lived a REALLY long time in that book.)

Frankly, outside of our own stupidity, there are only two things that reliably kill us. Old age, and the few enough diseases we haven't quite figured out yet. DESPITE this, over 100 thousand die per DAY, on average. Celebrities dying shows us only this: How little we pay attention to the majority of the lives lost. This combo of five famous people dying within a week of each other (it was within a week, right?) isn't a sign of a death rate increase. They just happened to be part of the 700 thousand + people that died.

Now on to cancer. We brought that crap onto ourselves. Tobacco is poisonous, yet we do everything we can to consume it in every way we can think of. Alcohol is toxic, and yet we think nothing of saying someone is intoxicated. We now synthetically mass produce foods in a manner that isn't meant to properly feed us with the best the world has to offer, it's meant to make the food providers rich. Heck EVERYTHING is meant to make money. This gives us cancer, that gives us cancer- well YEAH, of COURSE it does. We are feeding, consuming, and making things that would NEVER exist in nature. We seem to neglect that we are a PART of that nature. Sure, we try to save extinct animals, we "care" about our health, etc. But do most of us ever even realize that we are still something that naturally occurs on this planet, and yet from birth till death we do very few things relatively that are even possible in nature?

CANCER is the world's current answer. There are too many people doing too much damage while doing too many stupid things that make absolutely no sense. News flash: Google tells me that while over 150 thousand people die every day, easily double that are born per day. We are multiplying two-fold. While killing each other in wars. While killing ourselves due to intoxication, drug use, tobacco use, and stupidity in general. Despite all these people dying from all these things, for every person that dies, two take their place. Cancer is the only thing we can't reliably cure because it's the byproduct of our current life-style: having kids before we can financially support them, eating/drinking/using poisonous things, basing our entire lifestyle off of mass produced, low-quality products, and kicking countless people to the curb when maybe they couldn't handle it. Numerous things we eat cause cancer, and it makes SENSE that the tobacco, alcohol, and drugs do. Cancer isn't even doing it's job, considering. If it's meant to control our population, the world needs to come up with something better.

Where am I getting at? People are freaking out because all of a sudden several celebrities die, and I think most-if not all- of them from cancer. They're blaming cancer. Cancer! A disease we brought on ourselves. A disease that only really exists because of what we do. Maybe we should stop blaming the disease and look at ourselves- the ones who consume tobacco despite knowing the consequences (cancer), drink alcohol despite the consequences (cancer, stupidity), use drugs despite the consequences (do you want the list in alphabetical or chronological order), go to war(knowing countless lives will be lost and weapon fallout is a thing), murder, rape, steal, lie, mislead, and more.

Of course, if we stopped doing all that, then the world would freak out over our not dying even more, but hey. I'm just asking people to be aware of why so many die, be it from cancer, stupidity, or merely old age.

My person belief is that this life is to be a temporary state anyways- afterlife is, in my eyes, a thing, and if heaven exists, it is far better than what we've made for ourselves on this little blue ball of ours. Those of us that die will be missed as long as we are alive, and while I'm sure they will miss you significantly as well, it is not only a temporary separation but one in which they will be living in a better place. One which they can't wait to show us when we ourselves arrive.

To those whom I insulted, I apologize. I realize that this is an incredibly inflammatory post, but it's my personal view on things- it doesn't have to be yours.

Damn, this was...excellent :omg:
I was (and am) a huge Alan Rickman fan, but i wasn't offended at all.
You're totally right, and i know there's a heaven and it is DEFINITELY perfection.
Because God does not ALLOW us to be raging morons up there, it's just...it'll be perfect.
This was a fascinating and much-needed read, thank you for your bravery and -- i'm a tad disappointed no one else commented :/
But my mom just beat cancer, another family member of mine is dying from it, etc.
Still not offended.
It's the truth!
And all the time my mom's like "oh don't do this, it'll give you cancer!"
I'm like, stfu everything DOES.
Ok i don't even believe the human race is about to last much longer or earth period, imma just do whatever and be stupid like everyone else i guess, because earth's population has gotten to a point where everything you do is now stupid, whether you care about your health or not.
Thank goodness someone else who understands that we INSIST on bringing bad luck on ourselves talks about it! :iconclapplz:
